Kate Connell, one half of Book and Wheel is a sculptor, installation artist and jeweler. In addition to placekeeping collaborations with Oscar Melara, she’s interested in small sculpture that can be held and worn. Recently she’s worked with obsidian flakes, erasers, ear plugs, eggshells to represent white fragility and gum wood for carving. Kate founded the library exhibition program at City College of San Francisco which she directed for twenty years. She’s currently writing found poetry derived from Next Door Neighbor posts.
