Kate Connell, one half of Book and Wheel, is a sculptor, installation artist and jeweler. In addition to placekeeping collaborations with Oscar Melara, she’s interested in small sculpture that can be held and worn. Recently she’s worked with obsidian flakes, erasers, ear plugs, gum wood for carving and eggshells to represent white fragility. Kate founded the Library Exhibition program at City College of San Francisco which she directed for twenty years. She’s currently writing found poetry with lines from  Nextdoor.com posts, their original intention subverted in poems made to celebrate Southeast San Francisco.
